Liposculpture in Houston: Pre-Procedure Instructions
Congratulations on your decision to undergo liposurgery/liposculpture. Liposculpture is safe and easy. Do not be overly concerned about preparing for the procedure. If you have any questions after reading these guidelines, please call our office at (713) 465-2737.
- Eat a light breakfast or lunch prior to your procedure. You will be able to use the restroom before your procedure begins; however, it is difficult to arrange bathroom breaks during the procedure.
- You may enjoy a small amount of caffeine on the day of your surgery; however, we recommend you minimize the amount in order to avoid increasing anxiety.
- Please discuss current medications with our team prior to your procedure. Blood pressure medication, birth control pills, anti-depressants and vitamins are fine. Do not take ASPIRIN, MOTRIN, IBUPROFEN or other blood thinners prior to your procedure.
- Bring warm socks to prevent cold toes during the procedure. Wear comfortable shoes (such as flip flops).
- Wear loose, preferably old clothing on the day of your procedure. There is usually drainage after the procedure, so we suggest that you wear clothes you do not mind staining. Please bring extra underpants to change into after your procedure.
- Do not fast or undergo weight loss prior to your procedure. You should remain on a healthy, well balanced diet for at least two weeks before your procedure.
Please arrive on time for you procedure. Arriving late causes delays for our other patients and if you arrive more than 30 minutes late, you may forfeit your procedure time.
